Chili Cookoff

Businesses, civic organizations, and individuals participate in a chili cooking competition every September. People that attend the event sample and judge the chili and award the top choices with prizes. Tasting kits are available for sampling and a carnival with games helps keep the children busy and excited. The streets are blocked for accessibility and safety for individuals. The first year of the chili cookoff was 2001, and it was a huge success.
