Seward County 5-State Fair
If life in the Heartland
is new to you, there's no better way to sample the best it has
to offer than a visit to the Five State Fair. The annual
fair attracts exhibitors and guests from Oklahoma, Texas, New
Mexico, Colorado, and Kansas.
The fair starts off
with Prairie days: two days of storytellers, square dancing, fiddlers,
Native Americans, chuck wagons, Calvary reenactments, old timers
contest, and blacksmiths.
A variety of entertaining
events spice up the fair throughout the week. Agricultural exhibits
are joined by quilt shows, ugly cake contests, and a special kid's
day of games and contests for the public to enjoy. Dunking booths
and the famous tractor-pedal-pull competitions join the excitement.
Demolition derbies, stock car races and the finals of the KPRA
rodeo provide high excitement for the numerous visitors. Scattered
throughout the events are musical performances by local and specially-invited
artists for calmer entertainment. The
Pride of Texas Carnival livens things up every afternoon and evening.
